This past weekend the Division Three Ice Hogs hosted SEC conference opponent Ole Miss at the Jones Center. The first period of Friday night’s game was scoreless. Eight minutes into the second period the Hogs got on the board thanks to a Tyler Valdron goal, assisted by Zach Palmer and Griffin Sugasawara. Seven minutes later, the Rebs tied things up. The majority of the third period was quiet as the Hogs and Rebs entered the last minute of play all tied up at 1. With fifty-five seconds left, Griffin Sugasawara scored to give the Hogs the go ahead goal. He was assisted by Tommy Weiser. Fifty seconds later Alex Parisi scored the insurance goal securing a 3-1 Hog win.

On Saturday the 19^th the Hogs faced the Rebels of Ole Miss once more. Ole Miss got on the board first as they scored the only goal in the first period. About five minutes into the second period, Grant Deacon and Tyler Valdron assisted Griffin Sugasawara on the game-tying goal. A minute and a half later the Rebs struck back and took the lead 2-1. Early in the third period the Hogs tied things up again on a Tyler Valdron goal (assists: Brad Branscum & Nick Valentini). With under four minutes to play, Ole Miss scored to take the lead and eventually notch a 3-2 win.

This weekend, the DIII Ice Hogs will be in Little Rock face Ole Miss two more times. The Ice Hogs come in at 23-8-0 while the Rebels bring in a record of 13-3-0. The Hogs have the edge all time in the series between the two at 17-5-0. The Hogs will take on Ole Miss on Friday the 25^th at 9:00 PM and Saturday the 26^th at 5:30 PM at the Arkansas Skatium (address: 1311 S Bowman Rd, Little Rock, AR 72211).

The weekend before Thanksgiving, the #5 ranked Division III Ice Hogs traveled to Missouri to play in the Route 66 Classic. The Hogs played three games in three days to finish up their fall semester. On Friday the 16th, the Hogs faced off with the #2 ranked Jayhawks from the University of Kansas. Kansas controlled the first period, scoring four goals. Kansas added four more goals in the second period, taking a 8-0 lead into the third period. Kansas scored the lone goal in the third en route to a 9-0 win.

On Saturday, the Ice Hogs faced the #6 ranked Cornhuskers from the University of Nebraska. The Huskers owned the first period as they scored two goals. Under a minute into the second period, Grant Deacon got the Hogs on the board. Then, with under six minutes left in the second frame, the Hogs tied things up thanks to a goal by Corey Rees. The third period was relatively quiet as no goals were scored and there was only one penalty. Under a minute and a half into the 4v4 overtime, the Huskers scored to win the game 3-2.

The Hogs closed out the showcase early on Sunday morning when Arkansas tangled with #10 ranked University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Platteville got on the board a little over seven minutes into the game. But less than a minute later, Griffin Sugasawara tied the game up for the Hogs. After a quiet second period that saw no scoring, newcomer Nick Valentini scored to give the Hogs a 2-1 lead about six minutes into the third period. Four minutes later Platteville tied things back up at 2. Then, just two minutes later, Valentini score again to put the Hogs up 3-2. With under four minutes to play in the game Griffin Sugasawara gave the Hogs a little insurance as they went up 4-2. Platteville scored with two minutes left in the game, but would come no closer and Arkansas secured a 4-3 win.

The Division III Ice Hogs are now on break until the spring semester. They will be back in action the weekend of January 18 at the Jones Center when they square off against SECHC rival Ole Miss.

The weekend before Thanksgiving, the Division I Ice Hogs (6-14-0) went on the road to face the #6 ranked Wildcats from the University of Arizona and the #25 ranked Sun Devils from Arizona State University.

On Thursday, November 15, the Hogs played the Wildcats. The first period belonged to the Wildcats as they scored two goals. The second period was much of the same as Arizona doubled its lead to four. Arizona went up 5-0 two minutes into the third period, but Dakota Gottlieb got the Hogs on the board three minutes later. Arizona went on to score two more goals en route to a 7-1 victory.

The Hogs squared off with Arizona State on Friday. Arizona State scored the only goal of the first period, but things reversed in the second period when rookie Trevor McLain scored the only goal of the period to tie things up. About halfway through the third period, Alex DeGuire scored the go-ahead goal for the Hogs. The Hogs held off the Sun Devils and earned a 2-1 victory–the team’s sixth win of the season and first-ever win over Arizona State.

During the final game of the road trip, the Hogs met up with the Sun Devils one more. The first period saw no scoring. Arizona State scored the only goal of the second period with under 30 seconds to play in the period. In the third period, the Sun Devils scored two more times and shutout the Razorbacks by a final 3-0 score.

This weekend, Arkansas returns home for the last time this semester as they host the #11 ranked Ice Bears from conference rival Missouri State University (16-7-0). The two teams have met 12 times in the Division I era and the Bears lead the series 8-4. Puck drop is set for 7:30 PM Friday the 30^th and 5:00 PM Saturday the 1^st at the Jones Center in Springdale.

This past weekend, the DI Ice Hogs (5-12-0) traveled to Missouri to take on #1 ranked Lindenwood University (14-0-0). The Hogs and Lions first met on Saturday, November 10. In the first period, Lindenwood jumped out to a 3-0 lead into the second period. The second frame saw the Lions put seven more goals on the Hogs and led 10-0 going into the third period. In the third period, Lindenwood continued to roll as they scored five more goals on the Hogs to earn a 15-0 win.

The Hogs fared slightly better on Sunday. In the first period, the Lions scored three on the Hogs to lead 3-0 going into the second period. Three minutes into the second, Alex DeGuire scored the first goal of the weekend. A minute and a half later Tyler Valentin, scored an unassisted goal to cut Lindenwood’s lead to one. But that’s as close as Arkansas would get. Lindenwood answered back with four goals of their own to end the second period up 7-2. Lindenwood added two more goals in the first four minutes of the third period. At 6:16 in the third, senior Luc Gradisar scored an unassisted goal to cut the Lions lead to six. Lindenwood went on to score one more goal and beat the Hogs 10-3.

This weekend, the Razorbacks get back on the road as they travel to Arizona to play the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. On November 15, the Hogs will face the #14 ranked Wildcats at 8:30 PM CST. Arizona currently leads the all-time series between the two teams by a record of 5-2-1. The two teams met earlier this season at the Jones Center in Springdale where they split a pair of games. Arizona is coming into the matchup with a record of 12-3-0 and riding a three-game winning streak . The Hogs enter with having dropped the last three contests. On November 16, at 9:00 PM CST and November 17 at 8:00 PM CST, the Hogs will face the Arizona State Sun Devils. ASU currently owns the series with a record of 7-0 including a one goal win earlier this season against the Hogs at the Jones Center. The Sun Devils enter the weekend with a record of 6-14-0, having lost four of their last five games.

This past weekend, the Division I Ice Hogs hosted the Colorado State Rams and the University of Colorado Buffaloes. On Thursday, the 1st, the Hogs met up with the Rams. The first period was a quiet one as no goals were scored and there no penalties were called until seven seconds left in the first. Less than two minutes into the second period, the Rams got on the board. Six minutes later, rookie Kevin LaPlante scored to tie things up. Forty seconds later the Rams struck back to take the lead. Two and a half minutes later rookie Dakota Gottleib tied things up at two. The Rams scored the lone goal in the third period to secure a 3-2 win.

On Friday the 2nd, the Hogs hosted Colorado. Halfway through the first period, the Buffs got on the board first. Three and a half minutes, later Alex Kueser tied things up for the Hogs. But just a minute and a half later, the Rams struck back to take the lead. Then, two minutes later, Evan Kerr scored to tie things up. In the second period, it was all Hogs. Josh Staenz scored halfway through the second to put the Ice Hogs up 3-2 and then, with under one minute left in the second period, Cory Delisle scored to give the Hogs a two goal lead. Halfway through the third period, Josh Staenz scored what would be the final goal of the game to put the Hogs up 5-2.

On Saturday the 3rd, the Hogs faced the Buffs once more. The first period was all Buffs as they took the lead 2-0. Under two minutes into the second period, the Hogs got on the board as assistant captain Chris Stovall scored, assisted by Jack Critser. Less than one minute later, the Hogs tied things up 2-2 on an Evan Kerr goal, assisted by Alex DeGuire and assistant captain Shaun Foster. As the third period began, the Buffs scored to take the lead 3-2. A minute and a half later, the Hogs responded with a Chris Stovall goal to tie things up–assisted by Chris Salmon and Dakota Gottlieb. The Buffs would go on to score two more goals in the third en route to a 5-2 win.

This weekend, the DI Hogs travel to Missouri to face #1 Lindenwood. The Hogs are coming in with a 5-10-0 record while Lindenwood comes in with an unblemished record of 12-0-0. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM Saturday the 10th and 2:00 PM Sunday the 11th.

In the second period, though, it was all Jayhawks as they scored three goals. Under two minutes into the third period, Trevor McLain scored to cut into the Jayhawk lead. Kansas answered shortly afterward, though, with a goal of their own to lead 4-1. With under five minutes left in the game, Corey Rees had the Hogs on the board thanks to the assist from Griffin Sugasawara. The Hogs would go on to lose 7-2.

During Saturday’s rematch, things got off to a quicker start as the Jayhawks scored two goals in the first three minutes of the game. Less than fifteen seconds after the second goal, the Ice Hogs got on the board thanks to a goal from Garrett Jackson, assisted by Brooks Moore. Kansas scored again in the second but Griffin Sugasawara scored to bring the Hogs within one goal. Less than two minutes into the third, Grant Deacon scored to tie things up 3-3 but the Jayhawks went on to score two more goals en route to a 5-3 victory.

This weekend, the DIII Ice Hogs return home to host the SMU Mustangs. The Ice Hogs are coming in with a record of 10-4-0, while the Mustangs come in at 0-7-0. These two teams met earlier this season and the Hogs won both meetings. Puck drop is set for 7:30 PM Friday and 11:00 AM Saturday at the Jones Center in Springdale.

This past weekend the Division III Ice Hogs hosted McKendree University at the Jones Center. On Friday the 26th, the Bearcats struck first in the first period. Three minutes later the Ice Hogs struck back on a power play goal. Tyler Valdron scored the goal for the Hogs, he was assisted by captain Zach Palmer. Under one minute later, assistant captain Aidan Everett scored to give the Hogs a 2-1 lead. The second period was a quiet one as no one got on the scoreboard. With things all tied up in the third period, McKendree struck back to tie things up 2-2. In overtime, Alex Parisi scored to end the game and solidify a 3-2 Razorback victory.

On Saturday the 27th the Hogs faced McKendree one more time. The Hogs got on the board less than three minutes into the game as Brooks Moore scored, assisted by Garrett Jackson. Five minutes later, captain Zach Palmer scored a power play goal for the Hogs to put them up 2-0. He was assisted by Tyler Valdron and Alex Parisi. With one minute left in the period, Zach Palmer scored his second goal of the game–assisted by Tyler Valdron.

In the second period, it was all Hogs again. Less than a minute into the period, Grant Deacon put the Hogs up 4-0. He was assisted by rookie Griffin Sugasawara. Two minutes later Brooks Moore was assisted by rookie Brand Branscum to put the Ice Hogs up 5-0. With under five minutes remaining in the second period, the Hogs got on the board again as Sugasawara assisted assistant captain Aidan Everett on a power play goal to put the Hogs up 6-0. In the final frame, Tyler Valdron put one more goal on the board as the Hogs would go on to win 7-0 and earn a shut out.

This weekend, the DIII Ice Hogs get on the road to face Pacific Region foe Kansas. The Hogs and Jayhawks met a few weeks ago at the Jones Center with Kansas sweeping the series. The Ice Hogs come into the weekend with a record of 10-2-0 and the Jayhawks enter with a record of 7-1-0 having won their last six games. Puck drop is set for 7:40 pm on Friday, November 2, and 2:10 pm on Saturday, November 3.

This past weekend, the Division I Ice Hogs (4-8-0) went on the road to face arch-rival Alabama. On Friday the Hogs and Crimson Tide faced off in Pelham, AL. The first period was all Crimson Tide as they took a 4-0 lead into the second. Alabama would go on to add two more in the second before Cory Delisle got the Hogs on the board (assisted by Chris Salmon). Alabama would go on to score one more before the end of the second to lead 7-1 going into the third. Veteran Collin Young got the Hogs on the board again in the third, assisted by rookie Dakota Gottlieb. The Tide scored two more goals and cruised to a 9-2 win.

The Hogs faced the Tide again on Saturday. The Tide scored two goals through the first forty minutes and added two more in the third period. Arkansas got on the board in the third period thanks to a goal from Chris Stovall, but the Razorbacks lost 4-1 to the Tide.

This weekend the Division I Hogs return home to face a pair of WCHL conference rivals — Colorado and Colorado State. The three-game weekend begins Thursday evening at 7:15 pm when the Hogs take on the Colorado State Rams (3-6-0). The Hogs and Rams have met six times and the Rams hold an all-time 4-2 edge. The Rams enter the weekend having lost their last four games.

On Friday, November 2, at 7:30 pm and Saturday, November 3 at 12:00 pm, Hogs will face Colorado (3-7-0). These teams have met ten prior times. Colorado controls the historic edge with a 9-1 record.

This past weekend, the Division III Ice Hogs (8-2-0) hosted Pacific Region foe Kansas at home. On Friday the 19th, the Hogs got on the board first as Alex Parisi scored for the Hogs. Kansas answered with two goals of their own in the first to take a 2-1 lead into the second period. Kansas would go on to score two more goals in the second and one in the third to beat the Razorbacks by a 5-2 final.

The two teams squared off again the next day. The first period was a quiet one as neither team scored. That changed in the second period as both teams combined for six total goals, which produced a 4-2 Kansas lead entering the third period.  Arkansas markers came from Aidan Everett and Corey Rees. In the final frame, Kansas pulled away by scoring two more goals and securing the weekend sweep by defeating the Hogs 6-2.

The Division III team returns home again this weekend against McKendree. The Hogs come into the weekend with a record of 8-2-0, while McKendree enters with a record of 4-2-0. McKendree is riding a four-game winning streak.  The teams have met six total times and Arkansas has won all six contests. Arkansas will look to get back in the win column following the two losses to Kansas.

This past weekend the Division I Ice Hogs (4-6-0) had a bye week following the program’s first ever trip to Philadelphia where the Division I team played four games in four days.

On Friday the 12^th the Ice Hogs faced West Chester University (5-3-0) in Philadelphia. Arkansas got off to a quick start–scoring three minutes into the game thanks to a marker from Tyler Valentin. Just three minutes later, West Chester would answer back with a goal of their own. Right before the end of the period, Matt Lasky scored for the Hogs to give secure a 2-1 lead entering the second period. During the second frame, the Hogs mounted a scoring barrage as Trevor McLain scored two goals and Andy Williams and Jack Critser each scored one. Although West Chester also put up one goal, the Hogs took a 6-2 lead going into the third period. The third was all Hogs as Trevor McLain notched a hat trick and Andy Williams put up his second of the game to give the Hogs the 8-2 win over West Chester.

On Saturday the 13th the Hogs tangled with the Owls from Temple University. It was all Hogs from the start as they took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Matt Hehr and Tyler Valentin. The Owls struck back in the second with two goals of their own. But the Hogs caught fire shortly thereafter, scoring five more goals to lead 7-2 going into the third period. Matt Hehr, Evan Kerr, Alex DeGuire, Alex Kueser and Drew Hill all scored goals in the second period. The third period was all Arkansas again as they put up four more goals en route to a 11-2 win.

On Sunday the 14th, the Hogs met up with the Villanova Wildcats. The first period was an eventful one as the Hogs got on the board first when Trevor McLain scored. Less than a minute later, Villanova responded with a goal to tie the game. Later in the period, Alex Kueser scored for the Hogs to put the team up 2-1 going into the second period. Late in the second period, the Wildcats tied things up but five minutes into the third period Dominic de la Guardia scored what would be the game-winner.  The Razorbacks won the game 3-2.

On Monday the 15th, Arkansas played its final game in Philadelphia against the Drexel Dragons. The Hogs went scoreless in the first as the Dragons tallied one goal. Early in the second period, Dakota Gottlieb rung one up for the Hogs to tie the game. Ten minutes later Drexel would score again to take a 2-1 lead into the third period. About six minutes into the third Matt Lasky tied things up again for the Hogs. Drexel would go on to score one more goal and take the win from the Ice Hogs.

The Division I Razorbacks get on the road again this weekend, this time to take on arch-rival Alabama. The Crimson Tide (3-7-0) have dropped their last four games. These teams have met seven times at the Division I level with the Hogs winning five of the seven. Puck drop is set for 3:00 PM on Friday the 26th and 7:00 PM on Saturday the 27th.
