This weekend the Division I Ice Hogs (11-23-0) will be back in action as they host the #1 ranked Lindenwood Lions (25-1-0) to complete their season. The Hogs come in after having split a pair of games against league-rival Missouri State while Lindenwood enters fresh from sweeping Davenport University last weekend. The Razorbacks are looking to get their first win against Lindenwood as they are 0-6 all time against the Lions. Puck drop is set for 7:30 PM Friday the 1st and 5:00 PM Saturday the 2nd.
The Division III Ice Hogs have a bye this weekend as they rest up for the Pacific Regional tournament next weekend. The Hogs will face a familiar opponent in Wisconsin-Platteville. The two teams have recent history. This season, the Ice Hogs beat Wisconsin-Platteville by a narrow 4-3 margin at the Pacific Showcase. Last season, the Hogs were responsible for ending Wisconsin-Platteville’s season by defeating them in the Pacific Regional Tournament. The emerging rivals will square off on March 8th (time and broadcast information TBD).
To help the Division III team raise funds that would support their trip to Regionals alongside a potential Nationals run, the Razorback Hockey Program will be selling all-new team merchandise at the games this weekend (pictured above). Pricing is as follows: white and black sweatshirts are $25 each; grey and white pocket t-shirts are $20 each; and white and grey hats are $20 each. Only cash or check is accepted.
The University of Arkansas fields two hockey teams. The Division I team’s 2018-19 schedule is here. It has, since 2015, competed in the Western Collegiate Hockey Conference (learn more here). All home games are played at The Jones Center for Families in Springdale.
