The Arkansas Razorbacks (9-5-0) roll right through the Ole Miss Rebels 7-0 to take the first of two games this weekend.
Behind stellar goaltending from Brendan Desjardins and high powered offense, the Ice Hogs took Friday night’s game against the Rebels (9-3-0).
The Hogs began their scoring with 3:47 left in the first period when Marcel Toure netted his first goal of the game, leaving the score at 1-0 at the end of the first frame.
2:27 in to the second period, the Razorbacks scored a power play goal to extend their lead, and with 8:37 left to go in the period, Casey Womble scored to make it 3-0. The Ice Hogs didn’t stop scoring in the second as Marcel Toure scored his second goal of the game, followed by another goal a minute later, and one more goal from Justin McDowell, giving the Hogs a commanding 6-0 lead at the end of two.
Arkansas would grab another goal in the third, and Desjardins stayed solid between the pipes to give the Razorbacks a 7-0 shutout.
The Hogs and the Rebels will wrap their weekend series Saturday night at 4:15 pm at the Mid South Ice House in Olive Branch, Mississippi.
