Razorbacks set to host Pink the Rink weekend against Missouri State

The Razorbacks (9-0-0) return home this weekend for a set of two games against Pacific Region rival Missouri State Ice Bears (2-0-0). The rivalry with Missouri State goes back 11 seasons in the Division III era, with the Hogs owning a lifetime record of 21-11 over 32 games. In 4 games last season, both teams held their own on home ice, splitting the series 2-2.

The Razorbacks come off a bye weekend ready to get back on home ice after three weeks away. The Ice Hogs boast a flawless 9-0 record and have outscored opponents 67-19 thus far. This weekend begins an important run of 9 games in 17 days for Arkansas, with the first rankings of the season to be released shortly thereafter. The depth of the Razorbacks has shown early in the season; twenty-two different players have recorded a goal.

The Hogs will also be hosting ‘Pink the Rink’ weekend in an effort to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. During both games, players will be sporting pink socks, tape, and laces and fans are encouraged to wear pink as well in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Both games will also feature a raffle for a game-worn jersey signed by the team and fans can purchase $5 raffle tickets at the door. Puck drop for Friday, October 10 is scheduled for 7:30 pm, while Saturday, October 11 is scheduled for 3:05 pm. Both games are at The Jones Center for Families in Springdale, AR and adults are $5, students with ID are $3, and children under 12 are free.

The University of Arkansas Men’s Hockey team plays in the Southeastern Collegiate Hockey Conference. The 2019-20 season will be the team’s thirteenth season as a member of the ACHA competing in Division III. The team’s schedule can be found here.
